
Neal Patel, LCSW

Neal Patel, MSW, LCSW, graduated with his bachelor’s from Rutgers Business School and earned a masters degree in Social Work from Simmons University. Throughout his six years in the mental health field, Neal has worked in hospitals, inpatient and outpatient settings. He has trained at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, UMass Medical School Adolescent Continuing Care Units, the Department of Mental Health, as well as private clinics in Colorado.
Neal believes insight and acceptance are powerful tools to motivate change: he builds a relationship with each client to help them consider situations objectively and navigate difficult emotions. Using an upbeat and proactive approach, he helps clients to improve self-esteem, maximize potential, and form positive habits for sustainable change.
Neal uses Rogerian (person-centered) approaches, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing (MI) to support diverse client needs. He specializes in anxiety disorders, substance use disorders and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD).
In his free time, Neal likes to do mechanical projects, often spending hours working on his motorcycle, bike, and car. Neal also enjoys riding BMX, writing poetry, playing chess, and gardening.
