Frances Snellings,

Clinician/Coach

Frances Snellings, Clinician/Coach, earned her bachelor's degree in Sociology from Bates College before pursuing her Master's in Clinical Social Work at Boston College.

​

Before joining Riser+Tread, Frances gained experience and insight through her time at the Child and Adolescent Outpatient Psychiatry Department at Cambridge Health Alliance and the School Social Work Department at Woburn Memorial High School. Additionally, she served as an Executive Functioning Coach at the White Mountain School in New Hampshire, where she worked holistically with High School students. In this role, Frances directly witnessed the profound impact that nature, athletics and intentional community can have on emotional regulation and resilience.

Drawing from her background working with children and teenagers, Frances has developed a therapy style rooted in person-centered and strength-based frameworks. She incorporates CBT, narrative therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy, emphasizing her deep commitment to highlighting patients’ strengths and resilience in their therapeutic journeys.

​

As a former wilderness guide and athletic coach, Frances believes in the transformative power of the mind+body connection, and is eager to help her patients address the physiological manifestations of mental challenges, and consequently promote emotional and mental well-being in her leisure time, Frances enjoys woodblock printmaking, backcountry skiing, running along the Charles River, hiking the White Mountains, and sharing good food with friends and family.
