Griffin Burke, M. Ed, Clinician/Coach at Riser+Tread, earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with minors in Cognitive Science/Health, Medicine and Human Values before completing his Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a Specialization in Athletic Counseling at Springfield College. With over four years of experience in the field, Griffin has worked as Mental Performance Coach at the Division I, II and III levels, as well as working with High School and Elite Junior level athletes. Prior to working at Riser+Tread, Griffin worked as an Athletic Counselor at Post University, offering Clinical Mental Health and Mental Performance counseling services to the student-athlete population, and worked as a Clinician at Doc Wayne, offering Sports-Based Group Therapy and Individual Counseling Services to youth clients ages 6-16.

Griffin has gained experience and insight working with a wide array of clients including high performing athletes, young aspiring athletes, and youth at schools. Through these experiences, Griffin puts an emphasis on identifying tangible skills that can provide benefit to both sports and life, which often parallel each other. Utilizing a multidimensional approach that incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) with Strength-Based Frameworks, Griffin works with clients to help them identify their own values and goals, in order to identify and build a “mental toolbox” to be the best version of themselves.

As a former competitive junior golfer and ACHA hockey player, Griffin draws from his athletic experiences to better relate to and understand his clients. In his spare time, Griffin still lives an active lifestyle by working out, playing hockey and golf, and entering Spartan and Hyrox competitions. Griffin believes in the importance of the mind and body connection and enjoys playing board games, reading, cooking, sharing music and spending quality time with friends and family.
