Anthony Aguirre, LCSW

Anthony Aguirre, LCSW, attended American University in Washington, DC where he graduated with a degree in International Relations from the School of International Service and a certificate in Community-Based Research.  After working as an educator, Anthony began his education as a social worker at Boston College and graduated with a Masters in Social Work (MSW).

 

Anthony interned at Chelsea’s Excel Academy as a counselor, working with middle school students on self-regulation techniques, drawing out creativity, and instilling internalized self-confidence. Anthony’s focus at BC has circled around working with Latinx populations in the Boston area, as well as serving people with a variety of mental health conditions. Anthony has also worked at McLean Hospital as a Mental Health Counselor with a focus on personality disorders and adolescents. Anthony has expertise in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for adolescent populations struggling with Anxiety Disorders, Depressive Disorders, and ADHD.

 

Anthony has a strong passion for strength-based and solutions-focused therapy. As a former athlete, he has a strong belief that athletic coaching and therapy-based coaching are aligned through their ties in habit forming, encouragement, communication, and constructing tools to be the best version of one’s self.
