Dave Kells LICSW started his career as a teacher, house parent, and coach.  He earned his BA from Saint Michael’s College and his MAT from the University of Vermont.  After several years of teaching history and coaching tennis, soccer and skiing he went on to earn his MSW at Smith College School for Social Work in 2006.

Since earning his MSW, Dave has focused primarily in college mental health, while also working with children, adolescents and Uniformed Servicemen and women.  Throughout his career, Dave has worked particularly closely with male athletes at all levels. Currently, he does regular outreach to coaches, team captains and First Year college athletes to build rapport and to offer access to counseling services.

Using a variety of approaches in counseling, Dave works to help clients better understand thoughts+feelings, develop healthy communication skills, and guide clients as they identify and work towards achieving their goals.  With a mix of humor and patience, Dave works to help ensure that his clients feel comfortable as they work through challenges in order to achieve their full potential.
